#CLIfe : Command-Line Interface for everything
What? Command-Line? Yes. Exactly. That thing with the computer where you see characters flying by just like when Neo found out about the Matrix. It seems cryptic and magic, doesn’t it? People doing this can only do illegal things for sure. Not.
The console, where all those commands happened to be typed, has been around since computers have monitors. And they still exist in modern computing. They come really handy for a lot of things and especially when the graphical interface is going bad or not even there at all.
#CLIfe is a workshop organized by Michael Murtaugh and Julien De Swaef to teach you the basis of command-line manipulation, show you how useful (lifesaving?) this can be and have some fun with it. For the more advanced users, the workshop is oriented to CLI experimentations and knowledge sharing. Isn’t CLI a lifestyle afterall?

Quoi ? La ligne de commande ? Oui, exactement. Ce truc dans ton
ordinateur qui fait défiler les caractères comme quand Néo découvre la
Matrice. Ça te paraît cryptique et magique ? Les gens qui font ça ne
peuvent que faire des choses illégales ? Hé bien non !
La console (le terminal) dans laquelle on tape toutes ces commandes
existe depuis que les ordinateurs disposent d’écrans. Et c’est
toujours utilisé dans l’informatique moderne. Elle est pratique pour
plein de choses et particulièrement quand l’interface graphique
fonctionne mal ou est même complètement inexistante.
#CLIfe est un atelier organisé par Michael Murtaugh et Julien Deswaef
afin de vous apprendre les bases de la ligne de commande, vous montrer à
quel point cela peut être utile (voire vous sauver la vie ?) et bien
d’autres choses plus amusantes. Pour les utilisateurs plus expérimentés,
l’atelier est orienté expérimentations en CLI et partage de
connaissances. CLI n’est-il pas un mode de vie après tout ?
