Public Domain Day

A series of activities that celebrated yearly the importance of the Public Domain.

On the first of January new works enter into the public domain because their copyrights have expired. This means the works can be re-used in new works of art, they can be changed and re-published.
Worldwide, this The Public Domain Day is celebrated on the first of January.

In Brussels, the Public Domain Day was celebrated by a yearly event that was organised by Constant, CRIDS(Centre de Recherche Informatique et Droit, FUNDP Namur), Cinema Nova and the Royal Library of Belgium.
